The enormous mobility of people and their families in contemporary world makes international family law ever more important, not only among the member states of the European Union, but worldwide. International marriages, marital and relationship breakdowns, international movement of children and international child abduction are matters affecting everyday lives of people around the world. Family law cases with an international dimension including divorce, custody, right of contact (access), maintenance (child / spousal support), matrimonial property, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, financial settlement between spouses combined with questions of jurisdiction, the choice of forum, applicable law and conflict of law are increasingly prominent. Similarly, the importance of family mediation as an informal way to resolve conflicts, is also growing.

Radoušová Ptáček Law Firm has focused on family cases with an international dimension for over 12 years. We have been successful in representing many foreign and Czech clients in court proceedings with an international element.

Michaela Radoušová graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and in 1998, she received a Master’s (Mgr.) degree in law. In 2002, she passed the bar examination and was registered in the list of attorneys-at-law kept by the Czech Bar Association.

In February 2012, she completed the Conflict Resolution through Mediation training course organised by the Association of Mediators of the Czech Republic, followed by a mediation accreditation certificate granted by the Czech Mediator Association in May 2012. In March 2013, Michaela completed a practical course on the Improvement of Mediation Skills at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc, followed by the Mediation and Mediation Techniques course organised by the Czech Bar Association in May 2013, and the Negotiation Course hosted by Thierry Garby in October 2013. In October 2013, Michaela also completed the Model Mediation Situation Workshop organised by the Association of Mediators of the Czech Republic.

Since 2013, Michaela has served as an accredited mediator and member of the Association of Mediators of the Czech Republic for internal company disputes, consumer disputes, civil disputes, business disputes and family mediation. In October 2013, Michaela passed the State examination in mediation and was registered as a mediator in the list of mediators maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic.

From 2017 to 2019, Michaela was a member of the Council of Association of Mediators of the Czech Republic.

Michaela is a founding member of the Mediation Centre Brno, Czech Republic.

On a long-term basis, Michaela provides services in international family and matrimonial law. She has successfully represented both foreigners and Czech citizens in cases including international child abduction, international aspects of divorce, custody, right of contact (access), maintenance (child / spousal support) and matrimonial property. In her practice, Michaela relies not only on her long experience as an attorney-at-law specialized in international family law, but also on her training and experience as a mediator.

As an accredited mediator of the Association of Mediators of the Czech Republic and registered mediator, Michaela offers mediation services to both private and corporate clients.

Michal Ptáček graduated from the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in 2005 and holds a Master’s (Mgr.) degree in law. During his studies, he specialised in civil procedure, criminal law and commercial law. In 2002 and 2003, he studied international and European law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lapland (Lapin Yliopisto), Finland. In 2010, he passed the graduation examination at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University obtaining the Doctor of Law (JUDr.) degree. He also passed the bar examination and was registered in the list of attorneys-at-law kept by the Czech Bar Association in 2010.

Since 2008, Michal has been involved in representing foreign and Czech clients in family cases with an international element. In his work, Michal relies on his education in international and European law and his experience from Penningtons Solicitors LLP (now Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP), a British law firm, as well as his proficiency in English.

He has been successful in international child abduction cases, as well as in cases involving international divorce, child custody, right of contact (access) between the child and parents, and also maintenance (child / spousal support). He has advised clients in cases of matrimonial property and its settlement.

Michal closely co-operates with attorneys and law firms across Europe and the United States. He has gained experience with the practices of foreign lawyers in family cases and legal regulations of family matters in other countries.

Michal is a member of the Family Lawyers Union.
